Albert Froneman has been interested in nature and wildlife since early childhood!
Birds are particularly special to him and they present a unique challenge to photograph! He always aims to show some action or behaviour in his photographs. He spends as much time as possible in the field in search of unique opportunities to capture images of nature. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with other photographers in the field on safari or in the classroom presenting wildlife photography courses.
His bird and wildlife images have been published extensively over the past few years. He regularly contributes to various magazines as well as numerous other glossy publications, calendars and advertorial material. He has also received several awards – most recently one of his images received a highly commended award in the ‘Wild places section” of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards in 2008 and he won the birds section of the 2006 Fuji-Getaway wildlife photography competition.
Albert is based in Johannesburg South Africa but makes sure that he travels around frequently, whether it’s even just a quick afternoon outing to a local bird sanctuary or a week long excursion to a wildlife destination somewhere in Africa!
