About

he Blue Train is a luxurious moving five star hotel on which kings and presidents have travelled.Meals on the train are prepared on board
by top chefs and are served with the best wines of South Africa.The routes of the Blue Train are through breathtaking countryside across
South Africa. Coaches include thelounge car withits large windowsand interior resplendent with original works of South African art and
the club car with itsrelaxed atmosphere, with card tables, a small library and a fully-equipped bar. A short film about the train’s route
can be watched in this car. The English ritual of high tea, served every afternoon is an added treat.

Cuisine And Services

All of the meals on the Blue Train are freshly prepared on board by executive chefs. The gourmet cuisine is complemented with selected
South African wines. Lunch is more casual, while dinner is formal; Men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies eveningwear.

Traditional attire may also be worn.

Personal service is standard on the train. Guests will have a dedicated butler at their beck and call; a personal request like late-night
snack or wake-up call is only a telephone call away.

Coaches

All suites have individually controlled air-conditioning and an entertainment centre with a choice of movie and radio channels. The suites
are equipped with 100% percale cotton linen, goose down duvets and pillows and private bathrooms with a choice of shower or bath.
Both the rooms and bathrooms have under-floor heating. In all the suites there are wardrobes with hangers as well as a writing desk
positioned next to the window.

Luxury suites - Space in these suites are extended by more than a metre, with a choice between twin or double beds with spacious bath facilities. The choice of radio and movie channels is extended even further by including a private digital entertainment centre and selection of music CDs and big-screen movies on DVD.
De Luxe suites - There are seventeen De Luxe coaches; nine on the first train and eight on the second. There are four suites per De Luxe coach; one suite with a bath and the others with showers. These suites offer a choice between twin beds with a shower or double beds with a bath.
 
     

Journeys

Pretoria to Cape Town or Cape Town to Pretoria
This is a 27-hour journeystretching over1600 kilometres through the most diverse scenery of South Africa.The train departs from Pretoria
main station at 8:50 and arrives in Cape Town train station at 12:00 the following day.

Highlights on this tour include:
- A stopover end excursion in Kimberley en route to Cape Town to relive the days of the diamond rush.

Pretoria to Durban route
Guests are taken from Pretoria to Zimbali Lodge in Durban on this route. Guests spend two nights on The Blue Train and two nights at
Zimbali Lodge. On the last day, guests are transferred to Durban Station from where the train will depart for Pretoria.

Highlights on this tour include:
- Zimbali Lodge’s 18-hole golf course is the golfer’s ideal retreat. It consists of indigenous trees and natural streams and ponds.
- Guests who are not interested in golf are pampered with health spa treatments.
