Inspired by the never ending quest to capture “moments within moments”, I am always on the lookout for those briefest instants that make an image work. A passion for wildlife coupled with the desire to create images that resonate with an audience have lead to countless hours in the African bush watching and waiting. Learning how light interacts with the environment has proved vital in allowing me to capture special moments in time.
In 2001 I received a degree in Zoology and a year later achieved my honours in Wildlife Management from the University of Pretoria, helping me to gain an understanding of animal behaviour and ecology – invaluable assets when it comes to nature photography. My images have been published worldwide and I have also received recognition in several photographic competitions, including the FujiFilm Getaway Photography Awards, the NPN Editors Pick Awards and at the IPA Lucie Awards, my image “The Struggle of the Beast” was selected to feature in the “Best of Show” exhibition at Starlight Studios in New York.
